Lana, who touched hearts around the world, will be put to sleep on May 20 just days after her third birthday – unless someone saves her
A lonely Labrador faces being out down after she was rejected by an adoptive family for the second time.
Lana touched millions around the world after a picture of her looking depressed in her kennel was shared online.
In 2015, Lana was returned to a shelter after being rejected by her first so-called “forever home”.
Around 4,000 adoption applications were made and $15,000 (£11,600) raised for her veterinary care.
In January 2016 Lana was once again taken home by a family who planned to love and care for her for the rest of her days.
But the lonely pooch has now been returned to the animal rescue shelter for the third time.
She faces being euthanized on May 20, just after her third birthday, if nobody can offer her a home.
Canadian non-profit Rescue Dogs Match turned to Facebook in a desperate attempt to find her real “forever home”.
They wrote: “May 14 is Lana’s birthday, she will be three. Please help find her a foster or forever home.
“Lana only has until May 20th.”
She is currently staying at an overcrowded rescue centre that will soon have no room to house her.
Lana first arrived at the shelter as a puppy, and have spent all of her life in and out of temporary homes and kennels.
The first family returned her on the grounds of guarding issues – which saw her snap at the mother in the family.
