A massive investigation has been sparked after the death of a teenage girl who was found in a hotel freezer. A 19 year old girl named Kenneka Jenkins was found in a freezer by police at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Rosemont Illinois, She had been reported missing after not returning from a party that she had attended the previous day.
She died after wandering off from a party and then became trapped in a freezer, She was only 19 years old. Her death was ruled as an accident according to Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Jenkins Family however have stated that the Emergency Services did not act quickly enough in searching for her due to the color of her skin. Tereasa Martin, her mother questioned why the security footage from the hotel was not immediately reviewed after the 911 call.
CCTV footage from the hotel shows the 19 year old stumbling through the hall ways just minutes before she died. Alcohol and topiramate, a drug used to control seizures and prevent migraines where found in her blood according to the coroner. The Coroner concluded that the cause of death was hypothermia. The coroner also mentioned that no date rape drugs or narcotics where found in her system, And that the level of topiramate were within the prescribed level.
